FAQs

What is your training and background as a therapist?

I have over 35 years of experience, wisdom and training.

I graduated from the Columbia University School of Social Work, the Center for Family Learning (three-year institute for couple and family therapy), and The Women’s Therapy Centre Institute (three-year training program in psychodynamic psychotherapy).

My education has included CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), as well as Trauma Therapy. I have had extensive training in Coherent Narrative Therapy™ and Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT). In addition, I integrate mediation and mindfulness practices.

What are the problems of people who seek you out?

While I have a general therapy practice, the people I work with have come to therapy for a range of emotional issues and challenges including body and eating problems, anxiety and depression, grief and loss, not feeling good enough, relationship problems, stress, life transitions and passages, trauma, and loneliness.
